One Room Challenge | The Reveal | The Norma Costa Parlor
Nothing like a sprint to the FINISH line! We like to use every last minute of our time apparently. And now it is finally time for the big reveal and we couldn’t be more excited to show you our room!
Elsa Schiaparelli’s signature, Marilyn's dress in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Barbie’s bold packaging, and—of course—the color of peonies!
A room in Shocking Pink.
While admittedly not for everyone, I am obsessed with this color. We had originally looked at some lighter pinks, deep greens, and corals for this room. We had officially decided on coral (Coral Essence to be exact). Then we decided the coral was too blah for such an exciting space. Design is an unpredictable and fluid thing.
We certainly didn't want the Norma Costa Parlor to be blah so we went with the hottest pink (my favorite color) we could find and it is so fabulous! In screaming color is always the best answer.
I’ll stop blabbering on about my obsession with pink and just get on with the reveal.
You can read all about our original plans and inspiration in our Week 1 post and here is a tiny refresher:
BEFORE:
The Reveal!
Thank you for your support and for following along!
Big thanks to our media sponsor Better Homes & Gardens and to the creator of the One Room Challenge, Linda Weinstein at Calling It Home. AND a huge thank you to Gary! Not just for letting me paint this room neon pink but for doing all of the work. I dreamed it up but he patched and replastered the walls, stripped the cabinets from 138 years of paint, did all the construction, and even built the curtain cornice boxes. He is insanely talented and. a glutton for thankless work. And thank you to all of you who followed along, encouraged us, and helped us pick out the perfect finishes!
