White kitchen hoods, and grout, and appliances (almost!), and pot fillers oh my!
Just wanted to post a quick kitchen update. The hood is hung with care and it looks absolutely perfect!
Gary wrapped up the backsplash, grout, and caulking (I forgot to buy the caulk so I had to run to Rochester and Taco Bell on Wednesday night) and then Kris and Ben came over and installed the hood. It's starting to look like a real kitchen!
The refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher were supposed to arrive Thursday but there was some sort of drama with the mean and uncooperative delivery people (#satanists) so now everything is coming next week. With the stove! This is actually a gift because we have some heavy duty cleaning to do before the sparkly new appliances arrive.
In happier news, I'm super thrilled that we have a gorgeous pot filler! Gary had posted something on his Facebook about the kitchen renovation and our dear friend Kim asked if we were doing a pot filler? Gary replied that it wasn't in the budget. A few days later... the world's most beautiful Perrin & Rowe pot filler arrived on our front porch. It's good to have a Fairy Godmother with fabulous taste in chrome. I plan on primarily using the pot filler at all times no matter what the occasion is. "Would you like a glass of water? Because I have this beautiful pot filler!" We may have to get a dog so I can be all "Let me fill that dish for you with my pot filler." Does anyone in the neighborhood need me to fill their pot? Because I have a pot filler. I'm a little excited about the pot filler in case you could not tell. They are so excessive and they remind me of old movies where people cooked pea soup in cauldrons.
We are far from done but the list is getting shorter. Up next is picking out shelf paper for the cabinets, kitchen rugs, installing cabinet pulls, installing lighting, and then sanitizing all of our dishes (we've been using a typhoid coated outdoor sink in the library) once the dishwasher arrives.
I'll let everyone know when the first kitchen dinner party is! Gary hasn't cooked his famous pizza (he makes special crust and special sauce!) in over a year!
